A Battery EPR Registrationis required by the importers and manufacturers of lead acid batteries, lithium-ion, sodium ion batteries. As per the Battery Waste Management Rules, 2022, The Battery EPR Registration is issued by the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) and is required for portable, EV battery, Automotive & industrial batteries. The Battery EPR Registration certifies that the importers & manufacturers of any type of batteries are ensuring that the batteries imported or manufactured by them are recycled in an environmentally safe manner, as and when these batteries achieve their end of life.
